During his tenure with Hampshire from 2022 to 2024, McDermott made 44 appearances, scoring 1,138 runs, including 10 half-centuries. He was part of the Hampshire team that narrowly defeated Lancashire in the 2022 Blast final. McDermott has also represented Australia in 30 limited-overs international matches.
