BCCI Officials Boycott Asia Cup 2025 Final Between India and Pakistan
28 Sep
Summary
- BCCI officials skip Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan
- India undefeated, expected to win after beating Pakistan twice already
- ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi to present trophy to winners

As the Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan approaches this Sunday, the newly appointed BCCI president Mithun Manhas and other elected officials have decided to stay in India rather than travel to Dubai for the match. This decision comes despite India being the clear favorite to win, having already defeated Pakistan twice in the tournament.
The BCCI had its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on September 28th, where Manhas took over as the new board president, replacing Roger Binny. While some senior BCCI officials, including the board secretary and IPL chairman, attended the match in Dubai after the AGM, the new officials chose to remain in India and skip the game.
This marks the third consecutive time that no BCCI representatives will be present at an India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup. The BCCI had previously cited public opinion and boycott requests as the reason for not sending officials to the group stage or Super 4s matches between the two teams.
Meanwhile, ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also chairs the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and is the Interior Minister in the current government, is already in Dubai and will be the one to present the trophy to the winners. India's undefeated run in the tournament and their dominant performances against Pakistan make them the clear favorites to lift the trophy, but the absence of BCCI officials will be a notable aspect of the final.
