Basler Slams Kimmich: "Not World-Class"

Mario Basler, a former German international, has sharply criticized Joshua Kimmich's performance after Germany's recent 0-1 loss to Greece. Basler stated on his podcast that Kimmich, a midfielder for Bayern Munich, is not a world-class player but an average one who tends to try and control too much of the game. He noted that Kimmich received a lot of possession but achieved little with it, and that opponents have figured out his playing style. Basler suggested that Germany's coach, Jürgen Klopp, needs to change how Kimmich is utilized to prevent the team from becoming stagnant. This assessment aligns with Bastian Schweinsteiger's view that the German team has slipped into "average" territory, with no world-class players currently in the squad.
