Barca eyes Savinho over Rashford deal
23 Feb
Summary
- Barcelona may pursue Savinho instead of signing Marcus Rashford permanently.
- Hansi Flick reportedly favors Savinho's tactical fit over Rashford.
- Savinho could cost Barcelona over £50m, while Rashford has a £26m release clause.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick reportedly favors a move for Manchester City winger Savinho over finalising a permanent deal for Marcus Rashford. Rashford, who joined Barcelona on a season-long loan from Manchester United last summer, has impressed with 10 goals and nine assists across all competitions. Despite a modest £26 million buyout clause, his recent starting opportunities have cast doubt on his permanent transfer.
Flick is allegedly prepared to miss out on Rashford if Barcelona can secure Savinho. The 21-year-old City winger, previously admired during a loan spell at Girona, has started only five Premier League games this season. Manchester City would demand over £50 million for Savinho, a sum that could be prohibitive for Barcelona.
The Spanish champions might explore this deal if Savinho becomes available, as Flick considers him a superior tactical option. Savinho signed a new contract with City after rejecting interest from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, but could reconsider his position following the arrivals of Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo.
