11 Mar
Summary
- Bangladesh aims for a reset after T20 World Cup exit.
- Shaheen Shah Afridi captains a new-look Pakistan ODI side.
- Litton Das shifts to number five to bolster Bangladesh's middle order.
Bangladesh and Pakistan are set to launch a three-match ODI series today in Dhaka, presenting a crucial opportunity for both sides. This opener is particularly significant for Bangladesh, offering a chance to regroup after failing to qualify for the T20 World Cup and to embark on a new chapter at home under the captaincy of Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Pakistan arrives with a squad in transition, notably without Babar Azam, and under the leadership of Shaheen Shah Afridi, who captains a unit with many new players. The specific conditions of the Mirpur pitch, known for tighter contests, add to the intrigue. Bangladesh has strategically moved Litton Das to the No. 5 position to reinforce a middle order identified for improvement.
