Bangladesh has recalled experienced pace bowlers Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, and Mustafizur Rahman for the three-match T20I series against Australia. This series is scheduled to take place in Chattogram. Meanwhile, Towhid Hridoy has earned a maiden Test call-up for Bangladesh's one-off Test against Zimbabwe, which follows the Australia T20Is.
Hridoy's inclusion in the Test squad also sees him appointed as the T20I vice-captain under Litton Kumar Das. This change comes after Saif Hassan stepped down from the role. Chief selector Habibul Bashar highlighted Hridoy's potential impact in Test cricket, noting his first-class performance.
Notably, Mehidy Hasan Miraz has chosen to take a personal break and will not be available for the Zimbabwe Test. Bashar also confirmed that while the pace trio has returned for the T20Is, some players from the New Zealand series, including Tanzim Hasan Shakib, have been omitted.
