The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has solidified its leadership for upcoming international tournaments. Mehidy Hasan Miraz will continue to captain the ODI squad through the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. Litton Das has been appointed as the captain for the T20I team, a role he will hold until the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2028. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Saif Hassan have been named vice-captains for the ODI and T20I teams, respectively.
In a significant move to enhance coaching, the BCB has appointed former spinner Mohammad Rafique as a specialist spin-bowling coach and consultant for a one-year term. Rafique, a veteran in Bangladesh cricket, will focus on improving the spin bowling department across all levels of the national team.
To modernize the sport, the BCB has launched two digital platforms: the Player Data App and the Cloud Server App. These tools will offer detailed statistics and performance insights for domestic cricketers, aiding coaches and selectors. Additionally, the BCB Annual Awards Programme is being revived, and a scholarship program for sports journalists will be introduced to support media professionalism.
