Fourth Postponement for Ballymena United
24 Jan
Summary
- Ballymena United vs. Portadown match postponed due to heavy rain.
- Showgrounds pitch deemed unplayable after Saturday morning inspection.
- This is the fourth match cancellation at the venue this month.

Heavy rainfall has led to the postponement of the Irish Premiership match between Ballymena United and Portadown. The decision was made following a pitch inspection at the Showgrounds at 11:00 GMT on Saturday morning, which deemed the playing surface unplayable due to recent downpours.
This incident marks the fourth time this month that a scheduled fixture has been canceled at the Warden Street venue. Earlier in January, a league match against Glenavon on the 3rd was a victim of the weather, as were two attempts to play an Irish Cup fifth-round tie against Larne on the 10th and 20th.
The Irish Cup match against Larne has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 3rd. Additionally, the postponed Premiership match against the Lurgan Blues is now scheduled to take place on Tuesday, February 24th. Meanwhile, two other top-flight games set for Saturday are expected to proceed as planned.
