Summary
- Bahia reached an agreement in principle with Tottenham for Alejo Veliz.
- Tottenham aims to terminate Veliz's loan early at Rosario Central.
- Veliz played only eight games for Tottenham since his 2023 transfer.

Brazilian Serie A club Bahia has reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Tottenham Hotspur for the permanent transfer of striker Alejo Veliz. Tottenham is expected to attempt to terminate the player's ongoing loan at Rosario Central to finalize the deal. The Argentine forward joined Spurs in the summer of 2023 on a six-year contract for £13 million.
Despite initial encouragement from then-manager Ange Postecoglou, Veliz's time at Tottenham has been limited, featuring in only eight games. Subsequent loan spells at Sevilla and Espanyol were largely unsuccessful. He returned to his former club, Rosario Central, last summer for a year-long loan, where he has scored five goals in fifteen league starts.
Bahia's offer for Veliz is described as 'high', though the exact amount has not been disclosed. The early termination of his loan at Rosario Central remains a hurdle, and it is unclear if the Argentine club will agree to end the arrangement prematurely.
