Wisconsin volleyball has officially added Alyssa Konrad, a 5-foot-10 libero, to its 2026 roster. Konrad, a former standout from Madison Memorial, was signed on June 18, filling the team's final roster spot.
Coach Kelly Sheffield likened Konrad's journey to that of Rudy Ruettiger, the subject of the movie 'Rudy.' Sheffield noted that Konrad's coaches reached out after she enrolled at UW, suggesting she might be a good fit if a spot was available.
Konrad, who served as team captain and earned three all-conference honors at Madison Memorial, was praised by Sheffield for her exceptional defense during UW's prospect camp. She joins a competitive libero position alongside sophomore Kristen Simon and international signee Anna Bardaro.
"It's a dream come true to play at the place that had a huge impact on my volleyball career," Konrad stated. She will also be one of three Wisconsin natives on the 2026 team, highlighting a commitment to local talent.
