Badgers Hockey Roars Back: Dominate Second Half

The Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey team has returned to action for the second half of their season, heading to Milwaukee for the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off. Following a recent victory over Lake Superior State, they are set to face No. 7 Western Michigan in the championship game. This matchup follows Western Michigan's win against Boston College.

The Badgers have demonstrated remarkable improvement this season under head coach Mike Hastings, achieving a 13-2-2 record and holding the top spot in the Big Ten. They have secured victories against top-ranked Michigan and Michigan State and are currently on a five-game winning streak, showcasing their ability to perform exceptionally well even when trailing.

Wisconsin boasts a powerful offense, ranking second nationally in scoring and leading the Big Ten with nearly five goals per game. Senior Christian Fitzgerald leads the team with 10 goals, excelling on the power play. Freshman Blake Montgomery is also emerging as a star player. The team's defense and goaltending have also shown promise, with a strong one-two punch in the crease.
