Jeremiah Azu, the 24-year-old Welsh sprinter, successfully defended his British indoor 60m title in Birmingham with a season's best time of 6.56 seconds. Azu, already a European and World indoor champion, expressed that the victory served as a crucial "dress rehearsal" for the upcoming World Athletics Indoor Championships in Poland next month, where he aims to retain another title.
Abigail Pawlett, 23, also retained her 60m hurdles title, clocking 8.05 seconds in the final. She achieved this by setting a personal best twice during the competition, including a mark of 8.06 seconds in the semi-finals. In the pole vault event, Wrexham's Thomas Walley contributed to Wales' success by winning a bronze medal with a clearance of 5.25 meters.
