Morocco's 18-Year-Old Star Eyed by Europe's Giants

Eighteen-year-old Ayyoub Bouaddi is emerging as a breakout star for Morocco at the World Cup, attracting the attention of Europe's most prestigious football clubs. Clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly tracking the midfielder.

Bouaddi, who was born in France to Moroccan parents, has represented France at youth levels before committing to Morocco. He began his club career with Lille, becoming their youngest debutant at 16 and signing his first professional contract. He extended his deal in December 2025 and made 42 appearances last term, helping Lille finish third in Ligue 1 and qualify for the Champions League.

Known for his defensive prowess and ability to retain possession under pressure, Bouaddi excels at breaking up play. Standing at 6ft 1in, he uses his physique effectively to shield the ball and drive forward. His current contract with Lille runs until 2029, with the club reportedly valuing him at £43 million.

Despite the transfer speculation, Bouaddi remains focused on his World Cup campaign with Morocco. He has expressed happiness regarding the interest from top clubs but emphasized his priority is on performing for his national team during the tournament.
