Delhi Capitals have handed a debut to young pacer Auqib Nabi in their IPL 2026 encounter against Chennai Super Kings in Chennai. Nabi was a significant acquisition, secured for ₹8.40 crore at the IPL auction, but this marks his first appearance in the Capitals' playing XI.
Nabi enters the IPL on the back of an exceptional domestic season, topping the Ranji Trophy charts with 60 wickets and playing a crucial role in Jammu and Kashmir's maiden Ranji title win. Despite his stellar form, he missed the initial matches for the Capitals.
Chennai Super Kings receive a boost with the return of Dewald Brevis, who missed the first three matches due to a side strain. His inclusion sees Matt Henry exit the lineup, while Gurjapneet Singh is set to debut for CSK. However, MS Dhoni remains unavailable, though he is expected to return soon.
