Auburn O-Line: Who Will Protect the Quarterback?
23 Aug
Summary
- Auburn must replace all six starting offensive linemen from last season.
- None of the returning offensive linemen have full SEC schedule experience.
- New linemen were recruited from USF and experienced college players.

With the season opener two weeks away, Auburn's football team has considerable uncertainty surrounding its offensive line. All six offensive linemen who played significant snaps last season have departed. This includes five who moved to the NFL and one who entered the transfer portal.
Coach Alex Golesh has actively recruited to fill these gaps, bringing in talent from his previous coaching role at USF and experienced college players. However, a major concern is that most of the offensive linemen set to play in 2026 have no experience in a full SEC schedule. This challenge is amplified with the addition of an extra conference game this season.
While the Tigers plan to emphasize a heavy run game, which may reduce the need for consistent pass protection, the offensive line must still create effective rushing lanes. Their performance against top defenses will be critical for the offense's success. Failure to develop a strong offensive line could lead to a repeat of last season's struggles.
