Atlético Mineiro confronts Juventud de las Piedras at Arena MRV in Belo Horizonte for a critical Group B match. The team seeks its first win in the competition after an initial 2-1 loss and a subsequent 1-0 defeat in the Brazilian league.
Despite an unblemished home record this season at Arena MRV, Atlético is under significant scrutiny. Coach Eduardo Domínguez is expected to deploy his strongest available squad, including Hulk, signaling the urgency of this fixture.
Injuries present challenges, with Ángel Preciado and Alan Minda unavailable. Juventud also faces personnel issues, notably the absence of Martín Cáceres, but brings experienced players like Sebastián Sosa.
The match is crucial for Atlético's progression, as only the group winner advances directly to the round of 16, with second place entering playoffs.
