Atlético Madrid continued their impressive form with a 2-0 win over Levante on Saturday, October 31. Goals from Alejandro Grimaldo and Giuliano Simeone secured the three points for Diego Simeone's side.
The visitors delivered a disciplined performance, overcoming an energetic Levante team to record their seventh consecutive victory across all competitions. This triumph also saw them provisionally move to the top of the La Liga standings.
Alejandro Grimaldo opened the scoring in the 36th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error to put Atlético ahead. Giuliano Simeone extended the lead in the 62nd minute, finishing an excellent counterattack initiated by a precise pass from Álex Baena.
Despite Levante's efforts to find a way back into the game, Atlético maintained their defensive organisation. Goalkeeper Jan Oblak made crucial saves, and the team's disciplined structure prevented Levante from scoring, ensuring Atlético maintained their clean sheet.
The victory moved Atlético Madrid provisionally to the top of La Liga, placing pressure on Barcelona. For Levante, it was another disappointing result in their league campaign.
Atlético's next fixtures include a Champions League match against Bayern Munich and a La Liga encounter with Barcelona. Grimaldo's finishing, Simeone's movement, and Baena's creativity were decisive in this crucial win.
