Townsend believes the valuation of Trossard's departure was significantly underestimated, considering his proven ability to provide crucial goals and impact games effectively, particularly as a substitute.

Adding to the transfer saga, reports suggest that Gabriel Martinelli, another Arsenal left-winger, is a target for Galatasaray, with interest in the Brazilian growing. Arsenal, however, has reportedly identified Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola as a potential transfer target. This interest follows Real Madrid's extension of Vinicius Junior's contract, a player Arsenal had reportedly considered.

Townsend expressed skepticism about the reported £145 million valuation of Barcola, deeming it excessive and suggesting that the French winger does not possess the same level of talent or end product as other players like Kvicha Kvaratskhelia or Desire Doue. He also indicated that he would not trade Martinelli for Barcola, citing Martinelli's proven track record in the Premier League and his value to the Arsenal squad.
