Summary
- UEFA assessing security for the March 27 Finalissima match in Doha.
- Middle East conflict raises concerns over Qatar hosting the game.
- Alternative venues in Europe are being considered if Doha is unsafe.

UEFA is evaluating security conditions in Doha, Qatar, as it plans for the upcoming Finalissima match between Argentina and Spain, scheduled for March 27. The proximity of the widening Middle East conflict, involving Iranian missile strikes, has raised significant security concerns regarding Qatar's ability to host the event safely.
At present, UEFA has indicated that no alternative venues are being considered, and a final decision on the match location is expected by the end of next week. Discussions are actively taking place with local organizers who have invested considerable effort into preparing for the game. Should Doha be deemed too risky from a security standpoint, contingency plans are being developed. These include the possibility of relocating the match to Spain or another European location, where the majority of players from both squads are based.
The prestigious Finalissima, which pits the champions of South America against European champions, was previously held at Wembley Stadium in London in June 2022, where Argentina defeated Italy. The potential venue for this year's match is Lusail Stadium, famous for hosting the 2022 World Cup final.
