Gators Star Richardson Honored, Eyes NFL Comeback

Anthony Richardson, a former star quarterback for the Florida Gators, recently returned to Gainesville for a special ceremony at Eastside High School. His signature number-two jersey was retired by the school, recognizing his significant contributions to local football before his selection as a first-round NFL draft pick.

Richardson, now with the Indianapolis Colts, is strategically preparing for his NFL comeback. His professional career has been marked by injuries and inconsistency, including an orbital bone fracture that ended his 2025 season. As he enters the final year of his rookie contract, Richardson sees the upcoming training camp as crucial for regaining his starting role, competing against rookie Riley Leonard.
