Angels Eyeing Prospect Klassen for Rotation

Chase Klassen is emerging as a potential option for the Angels' Opening Day rotation. His impressive spring training performance includes allowing only two runs and striking out nine batters over eight innings across three appearances. This strong showing contrasts with Alek Manoah's recent struggles, where he has given up nine runs in his last two starts. The Angels are evaluating their fifth-starter role, and Klassen's performance might present an alternative if Manoah does not secure the position.

Despite his current performance, Klassen is not on the 40-man roster and has limited Triple-A experience. However, he is considered one of the Angels' top prospects. The organization has a recent history of quickly promoting promising young players to the major leagues, suggesting Klassen could be fast-tracked if he continues to excel.
