USVI Pitcher Eyes Harvard & White House

U.S. Virgin Islands Nike RBI pitcher Amanda Thompson has achieved a historic win, leading her team to the Nike RBI Softball World Series championship at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex. This victory marks the first time a team from outside the continental United States has claimed this title, a proud moment for Thompson and her small island nation.

Thompson's exceptional abilities extend beyond the softball field. As the valedictorian of her high school, she is set to attend Harvard University in the fall. There, she plans to study government and history, with a minor in philosophy, while also continuing her softball career.

Thompson harbors ambitious future goals, including representing the U.S. Virgin Islands in the 2028 Olympics and eventually running for President of the United States in 2044. Her drive is fueled by her Christian faith and the mantra, "I can do hard things."

Beyond personal achievements, Thompson is dedicated to expanding opportunities in softball. She supports underserved communities in Tallahassee, Florida, through the Capitol City Diamonds organization. Thompson believes sports can profoundly change lives and aims to make softball accessible globally, inspiring young girls to pursue their dreams with confidence.
