Mowbray: Allegany's Goalie Becomes Area's Best

Allegany High School's senior goalkeeper, Eoin Mowbray, has been recognized as the 2025 Dave Searles Goalkeeper of the Year by the area's head coaches. This award marks a significant achievement for Mowbray, who has been a three-year starter for the Allegany soccer program. His leadership and consistent performance were vital to the team's success during his tenure.

Mowbray concluded his senior season as a key player in Allegany's defense, which allowed an average of just 1.11 goals per game. He was credited with seven shutouts and a save percentage of 76.25. His ability to make critical saves, especially in one-on-one situations, consistently kept the Lions competitive in close matches.

Head coach Blake Geatz praised Mowbray as a "student of the game" and a leader who enhanced the team's defensive shape and backline confidence. Mowbray's growth from his sophomore year, when he was part of a highly successful team, to becoming the team's rock has been remarkable, taking the program to new heights.
