Alisson Future Uncertain: Juventus Target Liverpool Star
4 May
Summary
- Juventus targets Alisson as a top priority for the summer transfer window.
- Alisson is entering the final year of his Liverpool contract in July.
- Salah and Robertson are also leaving, signaling a major squad rebuild.
Juventus has made Liverpool's first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson, a primary target for the summer transfer window. The Italian club intends to invest significant resources in securing the Brazilian before the next season begins. Alisson is set to enter the final year of his Liverpool contract in July after the club exercised an extension option in March.
This potential departure occurs as Liverpool anticipates a major squad overhaul. Both Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have announced their exits at the conclusion of their contracts. Ibrahima Konate's contract situation also remains uncertain, pointing towards a significant rebuilding phase for head coach Arne Slot.
Alisson, who has been a cornerstone of Liverpool's success for nearly eight years, has recently faced injury issues. Despite his past heroics, recent performance data suggests a dip, with his save percentage falling below 70% in the Premier League for the first time. The club is reportedly conducting due diligence on potential replacements.
