Cora to Yankees? Red Sox Nightmare Scenario
9 Oct
Summary
- Chad Tracy is now the official manager for the Red Sox.
- Alex Cora has opted to take the 2027 season off.
- Yankees possibility for Cora could be a Red Sox nightmare.
The Boston Red Sox have fully transitioned to manager Chad Tracy, who began as interim and was later confirmed for the long term. Alex Cora, the former manager, remains a free agent after declining an offer from the Philadelphia Phillies.
While Cora initially opted out of managing for the 2027 season, reports suggest a surprising possibility: a return to the dugout with the New York Yankees, Boston's archrival. Such a move would present a significant challenge for Red Sox fans, particularly given recent playoff matchups.
This potential scenario looms large for the Red Sox organization. If Cora were to lead the Yankees to success against Boston, it would undoubtedly create a difficult atmosphere for the team and its fanbase throughout the season and any future playoff series.
