- Pierce led the NFL in yards per reception for two consecutive seasons.

Alec Pierce has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Indianapolis Colts worth $116 million, with $60 million fully guaranteed. This agreement makes Pierce the highest-paid free agent receiver in NFL history.
Pierce, 25, enters his fifth season with the Colts and has established himself as a premier big-play threat. He led the NFL in yards per reception in both 2024 (22.3 average) and 2025 (21.3 average), also surpassing 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his career during the 2025 season.
"I knew where my heart was," Pierce stated regarding his decision to remain in Indianapolis. He believes in the team's potential and quarterback Daniel Jones, expressing confidence in their ability to compete at the highest level again. The Colts' strategy of letting Pierce test free agency ultimately paid off, allowing them to retain him while also placing the transition tag on quarterback Daniel Jones.
Pierce joins a strong receiving group that includes Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs. However, his new contract could potentially lead to a trade involving Pittman or Downs due to the Colts' salary cap situation and market demand for receivers.
