The biggest upset of the day came when American Jenson Brooksby, ranked 86th in the world, stunned third seed Holger Rune of Denmark 6-3, 6-3. Brooksby, who had a good rhythm from his previous matches, executed a solid game plan to overcome the Wimbledon semifinalist.
In another all-American clash, second seed Taylor Fritz overcame a second-set blip to beat Sebastian Korda 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-3. Fritz, who is set to climb to fourth in the ATP rankings on Monday, will take on Brooksby in the semifinals.
