AIFF Invites Bids to Monetize Women's Football Leagues for 5 Years

On November 15, 2025, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced that it has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to invite bids for the commercial rights of the Indian Women's League (IWL) and the IWL 2 for the next five seasons.
The IWL is the top-tier of women's football in India, while the IWL 2 is the second division. The upcoming 2025-26 season of the IWL is planned to be held in two phases, with the first phase scheduled from December 20, 2025, to January 6, 2026, and the second phase between April 20 and May 10, 2026. The IWL 2 is likely to kick off in the latter half of January 2026.
According to the RFP, individual bidders must have a net worth of at least ₹30 Crore, while consortia must have a net worth of ₹100 Crore at the close of the financial year 2024-25. Interested investors will also have to furnish a security deposit of ₹3 lakh to place a bid.
The AIFF will constitute a three-member Bid Evaluation Committee (BEC) to select the partner, which will then have to pay either a 'Guaranteed Payment' or five percent of its 'Gross Revenues' every year - whichever is higher - to the AIFF. Part of the guaranteed payment will be used for prize money for the clubs and to cover the operational costs.
The deadline for bid submission is November 29, 2025, while bidders can seek clarifications until November 21. The technical bids will open on November 30, and the date for opening commercial bids will be intimated later.
