17 Mar
Summary
- Hawthorn players Dylan Moore and Connor Macdonald arrested in Arizona.
- The pair scaled a scissor lift in a car park during an off-season trip.
- They accepted diversion offers, pleading guilty to trespassing charges.

Hawthorn stars Dylan Moore and Connor Macdonald faced arrest in Arizona last November for criminal trespassing. The incident, which occurred during an off-season training camp in Phoenix, involved the players scaling a scissor lift in a car park. Bodycam footage revealed their attempts to de-escalate the situation with police, with one friend stating, 'We are from Australia, we literally don't know the rules around here.'
Moore was also found with a small bag containing a crystalline substance and a rolled $100 bill, though he denied ownership. Prosecutors opted not to pursue charges related to drug utensils. Both players subsequently accepted diversion offers, pleading guilty to trespassing.
As part of their diversion agreements, Moore and Macdonald are required to complete a substance abuse counseling program, pay court fees totaling just under $300, and maintain lawful conduct for six months. The Hawthorn club has issued fines and mandated alcohol counseling, with no further AFL sanctions expected. Court appearances are scheduled for July and August.
