Afghanistan Seeks Redemption in T20 Clash with Zimbabwe
29 Oct
Summary
- Afghanistan looks to bounce back after recent losses
- Zimbabwe riding high after Test win and T20 series victory
- Spin-bowling all-rounder Sikandar Raza to lead both teams

As of October 29, 2025, Afghanistan is set to face Zimbabwe in the first of three T20 International matches at the Harare Sports Club. The Afghans will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing group-stage exit in the Asia Cup last month and a recent 3-0 T20I series loss to Bangladesh.
Afghanistan's batting has been a particular concern, with the team managing only middling scores of 151, 147, and 143 in the recent Bangladesh series, which the Tigers chased down with relative ease. The Rashid Khan-led side will be determined to turn things around in the shortest format.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe will be riding high after its massive innings victory over Afghanistan in the one-off Test that preceded this T20I series. The team is also coming off an unbeaten run in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Region qualifier and a 2-1 T20I series win over Namibia. Zimbabwe will be led by its star spin-bowling all-rounder Sikandar Raza, just like Afghanistan.
The first T20I between the two teams is scheduled for October 29, with the toss taking place at 4:30 PM IST and the match starting at 5 PM IST. While the game will not be televised in India, it can be streamed live on the FanCode app and website.
