Broos highlighted concerns over lengthy travel times to training venues, stating that his team often spends over three hours round trip for a single session due to the 45-minute commute each way. He contrasts this unfavorably with previous AFCON tournaments, lamenting the absence of a vibrant tournament atmosphere.

Further complicating matters, Broos revealed that both South Africa and Cameroon are required to train at the same complex used by the Moroccan national team, a potential adversary in the later stages of the competition. He questions the Confederation of African Football's decision to allow this arrangement, suggesting it could offer a competitive advantage to the hosts. This criticism follows earlier complaints from Broos about the perceived lack of tournament 'vibe' compared to past editions in Gabon and Ivory Coast.

In contrast, Cameroon's head coach, David Pagou, has stated that his team has encountered no problems with their training arrangements. Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena acknowledged the travel difficulties but affirmed the squad's determination to focus on winning the tournament, aiming to secure a triumphant send-off for coach Broos in his final AFCON with the national team.
