14 May
Summary
- Aces secured a commanding 105-78 victory against the Sparks.
- Chennedy Carter scored 16 points, mostly in the second half.
- The young Connecticut Sun team is seeking its first win of the season.
The Las Vegas Aces, holding a 1-1 record, are set to face the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday night. After a significant 99-66 defeat in their season opener against the Phoenix Mercury, the Aces responded emphatically with a 105-78 road win against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Key to the Aces' comeback was Chennedy Carter, who doubled her offensive output in the second half. Despite only scoring six points before halftime, Carter aggressively scored 16 points in the second half, propelling her team to a decisive victory.
The Connecticut Sun, a notably young team with five rookies and three players in their second WNBA season, is grappling with early-season challenges. Following an opening night loss by 31 points to the New York Liberty, the Sun put up a stronger performance, narrowly losing 89-82 to the Seattle Storm.
A standout for the Sun was Aneesah Morrow, who came off the bench to deliver a remarkable 17-point, 16-rebound performance. Her efforts kept the Sun competitive until the final moments of the game.
