Adults with complex needs from Louth, Lincolnshire, recently experienced the excitement of skiing, drawing inspiration from the Winter Paralympics. The group visited the Snozone centre in Castleford, West Yorkshire, to participate in adaptive skiing sessions.
Participants, including Kari who enjoyed sit-skiing, and Joe, who is deaf-blind, described the experience as liberating and thrilling. Organizers from Sense Active noted the significant boost in participants' confidence, communication skills, and overall physical development.
Sense Active, funded by Sport England, actively works to dismantle obstacles preventing individuals with disabilities from engaging in sports and physical activities. Their goal is to ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy such activities.
