- Several strong candidates unavailable to start immediately.
- Club prioritizes stability and long-term success over haste.

Aberdeen FC's pursuit of a new head coach has encountered unexpected delays. Chairman Dave Cormack confirmed that the final stages of the appointment process are taking longer than anticipated due to unforeseen circumstances.
He revealed that many candidates were not available for immediate commencement, with some requiring a full pre-season to implement their coaching philosophies, especially those relocating from abroad. Sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel has engaged with numerous strong contenders from both the UK and international markets.
Peter Leven has been serving as interim head coach since Jimmy Thelin's dismissal on January 4. The team currently sits eighth in the Scottish Premiership, having experienced mixed results under Leven's stewardship, though they have advanced to the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.
In a bid to support Leven, former assistant manager Tony Docherty recently returned to the club. Cormack stressed the club's commitment to finding a coach who can provide stability and achieve long-term success for Aberdeen FC, asserting they will not rush the decision.
