Summary
- Abby Boreen joins Las Vegas from Vancouver, bolstering their forward group.
- Boreen has played for three PWHL teams since the league's inaugural season.
- Las Vegas and Hamilton were expansion teams that did not meet signing caps.

PWHL Las Vegas has finalized its expansion roster by acquiring forward Abby Boreen from the Vancouver Goldeneyes. Boreen becomes the fifth forward added to the Las Vegas team and is the first player Vancouver has lost in the expansion process. The Goldeneyes previously lost defenders Sydney Bard and Nina Jobst-Smith to PWHL Detroit.
This move comes after Las Vegas signed Katy Knoll, bringing their total to nine players. Boreen brings valuable experience, having played for three different PWHL teams in her career. In the 2025-26 season, she tied for eighth on Vancouver's roster with nine points, notably scoring the overtime winner in the Goldeneyes' inaugural game.
Both Las Vegas and PWHL Hamilton entered an earlier selection process, having not reached the 10-player signing cap by the end of Phase 4. Hamilton selected Peyton Hemp from the Ottawa Charge. Boreen will now join a forward group in Las Vegas that includes Knoll, Hayley Scamurra, and Maureen Murphy, with additional players expected from the upcoming 2026 PWHL Draft. Despite Hilary Knight signing an Expansion Foundational Offer, she is expected to be traded to Detroit.
