As of August 3rd, 2025, former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter AB de Villiers has revealed his greatest IPL XI of all time. During his recent podcast appearance, De Villiers included two former RCB captains in his star-studded lineup - Virat Kohli and Daniel Vettori.
De Villiers, who was an integral part of the RCB team from 2011 to 2021, also named himself in the XI. The South African legend's all-time IPL team features a formidable batting order, with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Matthew Hayden, and Suryakumar Yadav.
Interestingly, De Villiers' selection comes just weeks after he led the South Africa Champions to victory in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. In the final against Pakistan Champions, the right-hander produced a match-winning unbeaten 120 off just 60 balls to guide his team to a comfortable nine-wicket win.
De Villiers' exploits in the WCL 2025 tournament were nothing short of remarkable. He finished as the highest run-getter, amassing 429 runs at an otherworldly average of 143, including three centuries and a half-century.
