Interestingly, De Villiers' selection comes just weeks after he led the South Africa Champions to victory in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. In the final against Pakistan Champions, the right-hander produced a match-winning unbeaten 120 off just 60 balls to guide his team to a comfortable nine-wicket win.
De Villiers' exploits in the WCL 2025 tournament were nothing short of remarkable. He finished as the highest run-getter, amassing 429 runs at an otherworldly average of 143, including three centuries and a half-century.
