Aaron Donald, who retired from the NFL in March 2024 after a decade with the Rams, is reportedly contemplating a return to the league. Rams General Manager Les Snead revealed that Donald is experiencing a renewed competitive drive, a "football itch" that had been absent since the team's Super Bowl victory.
At the time of his retirement, Donald cited feelings of completion, satisfaction, and burnout, stating the passion for the game had faded. He had achieved numerous accolades, including three Defensive Player of the Year awards and a Super Bowl title.
Snead indicated this is the first time since winning the championship that Donald has seriously considered playing again. The Rams are giving Donald space to make his decision, recognizing the significant physical commitment required for a return to his elite standard.
