2 Feb
Summary
- A 91-year-old man won two gold medals in trampolining.
- He previously won the British championship in 1960.
- He plans to do 100 backflips for his 100th birthday.

Peter Quinney, aged 91, has demonstrated that age is no barrier to athletic achievement by winning two gold medals in trampolining. The coach from Melksham, Wiltshire, previously competed in 1960, winning the British championship. He recently entered an over-40s competition hosted by Portsmouth Gymnastics Club.
Competing in non-flipping categories, Mr. Quinney showcased skills like a 360 and a seat drop, securing victories in both team and individual events. He continues to coach trampolining for four hours weekly at the Spire Heights Club in Salisbury.
Looking ahead, Mr. Quinney aims to celebrate his 100th birthday by performing 100 backflips, inspired by Captain Sir Tom Moore. He hopes this challenge will raise money for Cancer Research.
