13 Oct
Summary
- 49ers are undefeated at 5-0 with three divisional wins.
- Brock Purdy remains a top contender in the MVP conversation.
- NFC West rivals Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, and Los Angeles Rams all lost.
The San Francisco 49ers have solidified their position atop the NFC West with an undefeated 5-0 record. Their recent victory against the Seattle Seahawks, one of three wins against divisional opponents this season, underscores their dominance. Quarterback Brock Purdy continues to impress and remains a strong candidate in the MVP race, recently showcasing a critical fourth-quarter drive.
In contrast to the 49ers' success, the rest of the NFC West has struggled. The Seattle Seahawks are now 3-2 after a tough stretch of games, facing a challenging upcoming schedule. The Arizona Cardinals suffered a significant loss, falling to 1-4 after being overwhelmed by the Detroit Lions. The Los Angeles Rams also dropped to a 2-3 record following a close contest with the Buffalo Bills.
The 49ers are set to host the Washington Commanders in Week 6, while the Seahawks face the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football. The Rams will play against the Cardinals at home, with both teams looking to improve their standing in the competitive division.
