7 Jun
Summary
- NJ Transit round-trip fare to MetLife Stadium is $98.
- Car parking at the stadium may cost up to $225.
- Officials strongly advise against walking to the stadium.

MetLife Stadium is set to host eight matches for the 2026 World Cup, including the final in mid-July. Getting to the venue from New York City will involve substantial costs. A round-trip NJ Transit ticket from New York's Penn Station, originally around $13, is now priced at $98, a reduction from an initially proposed $150.
Furthermore, parking for cars at the stadium could cost as much as $225. Despite the stadium being less than 4.5 miles from Weehawken, officials strongly discourage walking. Alex Lasry, CEO of the New York New Jersey Host Committee, warned that walking would endanger attendees, law enforcement, and others on the road.
The journey can also be made by ferry to Weehawken, similar to how many fans will start their trip. The area north of Weehawken, including West New York, Guttenberg, and North Bergen, offers stunning skyline views and features dense, historic commercial corridors like Bergenline Avenue, with thriving businesses and a large Latino population.
