The 2026 Kentucky Derby, scheduled for Saturday, May 2, at Churchill Downs in Louisville, will mark the 152nd running of this iconic Triple Crown race. Grammy Award-winning Tedeschi Trucks Band, led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, has been selected to perform the national anthem.

In a unique nod to music history, trainer Kenny McPeek has extended an invitation to the surviving members of the Beastie Boys. His contender, "Right to Party," is named in honor of the band's famous song, "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party)." McPeek has also invited them to participate in the traditional horse walkover.
