Diver Hosts World's First Live Underwater Podcast

Marine biologist Kurt Krispyn has made history by conducting what is believed to be the world's first live podcast from the seabed. The event occurred off the coast of Rottnest Island, where Krispyn and Murdoch University associate professor Mike van Keulen broadcast live for nearly an hour.

Krispyn described the preparation as extensive, consuming several months of dedicated effort. His primary goal was to create an educational piece that would raise awareness and inspire people, particularly the younger generation, about the marine world. As the founder of Paramount Importance, a science communication platform, Krispyn is passionate about sharing knowledge of the ocean.
