Russia's Progress MS-35 cargo spacecraft is currently en route to the International Space Station (ISS) following a successful launch from the Baikonur spaceport. The spacecraft, weighing approximately 7.4 metric tons, was placed into orbit and is expected to dock with the Poisk module of the Russian ISS segment on September 19.
The resupply mission, the 95th for the ISS, will deliver about 2.4 metric tons of essential cargo. This includes 842 kg of fuel for station refueling, 420 kg of drinking water, and 50 kg of oxygen to replenish the atmosphere. Additionally, 1,275 kg of food, medical supplies, hygiene products, and medications are being transported.
Key experiments aboard this mission include testing the Teledroid robot, which could assist cosmonauts during spacewalks. A special exoskeleton will allow a cosmonaut to remotely control the anthropomorphic robot, with further tests planned to simulate retrieving objects and transferring tools.
