The fabricated data injected into scientific literature compromises vital areas like medical research and drug discovery.
Journals have already been forced to retract thousands of articles due to paper mill involvement. Beyond scientific papers, these mills also offer fraudulent designs and intellectual property registrations, sometimes misrepresenting them as Australian design patents to unsuspecting buyers.
