Mountain Fossils Spark Global Flood Debate

Ancient marine fossils discovered atop numerous mountains globally have resurfaced discussions concerning the biblical account of Noah's Great Flood. A widely shared video capturing hikers uncovering fossilized seashells in the Guadalupe Mountains, spanning west Texas and New Mexico, has intensified online speculation that these high peaks were once submerged. This discovery has sparked debate, with some viewers interpreting the fossils as proof of a global flood.

Geologists, however, offer a scientific explanation, stating the shells are remnants of ancient seabeds uplifted by tectonic forces over millions of years. This phenomenon is observed in mountain ranges worldwide, including the Himalayas and the Andes, where ancient ocean floors were pushed skyward during continental collisions. Scientists explain that marine fossils are commonly found in mountain rocks because these areas were once underwater before geological processes formed the present-day topography.
