A new research and manufacturing unit for the Centre for Research on Molecular and Applied Sciences (CRMAS) has been established at the Bio 360 Life Sciences Park in Thonakkal. Minister for Industries P. Rajeeve laid the foundation stone for this facility, marking a crucial step in Kerala's ambition to become a premier center for biomedical and life sciences. The project is set to foster advanced technology manufacturing, including electric pulse stimulation systems.
The CRMAS facility will significantly enhance research capabilities in areas such as innovative disease modelling, neuronal stimulation, and cardiac remodelling. Director Rajesh Ramachandran highlighted the aim to become a translational research hub, merging Ayurveda and biomaterials research to achieve impactful, application-oriented outcomes. This expansion is also projected to create more than 100 high-skilled employment opportunities.
