ISS Crew Tackles Spacesuit Repairs & New Exercise Gear

The International Space Station crew concluded a busy week with essential maintenance and research activities. NASA astronaut Anil Menon and ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot worked on cleaning spacesuit cooling systems and stowing tools after a recent spacewalk, ensuring readiness for future extravehicular activities.
Astronauts also focused on advancing health and fitness research. Sophie Adenot evaluated the new European Enhanced Exploration Exercise Device (E4D) for its effectiveness on extended missions, while Jack Hathaway maintained its vibration isolation system. Other crew members also conducted plumbing repairs within the Tranquility module.
Looking ahead, the crew will observe the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 7. However, the Roscosmos cosmonauts will manage the undocking of the Progress 94 resupply spacecraft. This vehicle will be replaced by Progress 96, scheduled to launch from Baikonur Cosmodrome on September 9 and dock two days later.
In preparation for the cargo exchange, cosmonauts Anna Kikina and Pyotr Dubrov finalized cargo transfers in Progress 94 and tested the tele-operated robotic unit (TORU) for remote spacecraft control. The trio also participated in an emergency drill, practicing CPR and reviewing medical procedures.
Meanwhile, astronaut Andrey Fedyaev concentrated on camera maintenance, including uninstalling and inventorying Earth-imaging equipment and inspecting cameras for radiation-induced sensor degradation.
