Autism Research Game Unlocks Brain Secrets

Researchers at Boston University have pioneered a video game to assess information processing in individuals with autism. This accessible game accommodates players of all communication levels, including those who are nonverbal, providing unique insights into the autistic brain. The study, involving 300 children aged 11-17, revealed differences in learning curves between autistic and neurotypical participants. While most players quickly adapted, autistic players showed a more significant challenge in adjusting to the game's increasing difficulty, particularly with timed light pulses and sensory integration.
