Astronauts Brace for Fiery Re-Entry Tonight

The return journey for NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen is imminent. This evening, the crew will commence preparations for their fiery re-entry into Earth's atmosphere. Their capsule is expected to encounter the top of the atmosphere at an altitude of 400,000 feet, traveling at approximately 30 times the speed of sound. The reentry sequence is scheduled to initiate at 7:53 p.m. ET. Following this intense descent, the astronauts are anticipated to splashdown safely off the coast of San Diego. This concluding phase of their mission is projected for 8:07 p.m. ET, a mere 14 minutes after reentry begins.
