Russia's Vostochny Cosmodrome has officially commissioned the launch pad designated for the Angara family of heavy-class rockets. This significant milestone, authorized on December 8th, introduces one of the world's most modern and automated launch facilities, covering an area of approximately 45,000 square meters.
The construction of the Angara launch site has also seen 37 additional facilities brought into operation. These include essential infrastructure such as the command post, oxygen and nitrogen storage, and escape tunnels, underscoring the comprehensive development of the spaceport.
Head of the Vostochny Cosmodrome Administration, Nikolay Novikov, stated that 70% of all structures within the Angara launch site project are now commissioned. The remaining auxiliary facilities are scheduled for completion by the end of March 2026, signaling continued progress in enhancing Russia's space launch capabilities.
